Trainee vacancies – Speech and Language therapy/ supporting children with Down syndrome

Downright Excellent is offering paid training roles for those with a passion for supporting communication and life skills in children with Down syndrome.

You will work with our children on Fridays (with pre-school children) and/or Saturdays (with school-age children and young people) as part of our expert team of freelancers.

You will also be supported through specialist training with Symbol Connect to gain a recognised qualification.

Who would this role suit?

This role would suit a Speech and Language Therapist, Speech and Language Therapy assistant or a Special Educational Needs teaching professional looking to develop their skills and knowledge in working with and supporting children and young people with Down syndrome

It would also suit someone interested in working in speech and language therapy as a career, who would like hands on experience.

What are the details?

You will be required to work in-person on Fridays and/or Saturdays from 8.30am – 2pm at our venue in Tower Hamlets (closest station is Hoxton).

The day rate offered starts from £135, depending on qualifications and experience. As a freelancer you do not get holiday or sick pay, or pension contributions. You will need to complete an enhanced DBS check and will receive safeguarding training as part of your induction.
